Small private gardens are quite common on Pelion but they are not open to visitors. There is one, though, in Tsagarada, called Serpentine Garden which is a dream come true but only due to the intense effort of Doris Schlapper and her husband Peter, who in 1990 started to create a semi-wild garden out of a wilderness.
Visits are strictly by appointment.Tel. +30 2426 0 49060

This is the most important religious festival in the Greek Othodox religion. It occurs between April 4th and May 9th. Its timing may fall as many as five (but usually two weeks) to either side of the Western festival. Some times the Good Week coincides with that of other European countries. This is a lovely time for visitors to witness the customs from Good Friday to Easter Sunday. The Lenten fast having been broken early on Sunday morning is heightened at lunch time when lamb is roasted on the spit and the hillsides are alive with the sound of song and dance.
In adition to the weekly guided walks offered by the FOOTPRINTS WALKING CLUB, from May to October, the club is able to organise walks and new itineraries on request. Accommodation for a group of up to 8-10 people can also be arranged.
