On the peninsular there are Post Offices in Millies, Tsangarada, Zagora, Argalasti and Millina. The normal opening times are from Monday to Friday 0800-1400 hrs but the duration of these opening times cannot be totally relied upon, as the distribution of mail is a very difficult task on the precipitous terrain, so some times the post offices close earlier in order to fulfill their duties.
There are two types of holidays: the ones that are celebrated on the same date always, and the ones that are determined by the Greek Orthodox Easter, which may fall anywhere between April 4th and May 9th. It should also be noted that the Greek Easter usually falls one week before the Catholic or Protestant Easter but on occasions they coincide.
A. Standard holidays: New Year's Day, March 25th< (National Day) May 1st, (Labour Day), August 15th (Assumption), October 28th (National Day), December 25th and 26th (Christmas).
B. Moveable holidays: Clean Monday (40 days before Easter) Good Friday, Easter Sunday and
Monday, Pentecost (50 days after Easter).
